Application of Lincomycin Hydrochloride in Veterinary Clinic
Lincomycin hydrochloride is a lincosamide bacteriostatic agent, which is a narrow-spectrum antibacterial drug. Its role in the clinical treatment of livestock and poultry is similar to Tylosin, and is mainly used for the treatment of Gram-positive bacteria, mycoplasma and anaerobic bacteria infections.
Lincomycin hydrochloride is commonly used in the following aspects in veterinary clinics.
Application in poultry
1. Treatment of air sacculitis and mycoplasma infection. Lincomycin has obvious anti-inflammatory effects and can dissolve cellulose. The use of other drugs can enhance the distribution of drugs in the respiratory system and joint cavity, improve the antibacterial effect of other drugs, and increase the cure rate.
2. Treat chicken necrotizing enteritis. Lincomycin has a good effect on intestinal bleeding, swelling, shedding of intestinal mucosa, and pulling carrot filamentous stool caused by Gram-positive bacteria.
3. Treat salpingitis. Lincomycin has a very obvious effect on inflammation of the reproductive system. Often used to treat inflammation of the fallopian tubes and uterus. Reduce blood spots, thin-shelled eggs and sand-preserved eggs.
Livestock applications
Lincomycin is a commonly used drug in pig farms, mainly against Gram-positive bacteria (Streptococcus, Staphylococcus), and it is also effective against some Gram-negative bacteria (preventing Escherichia coli, Treponema, Mycoplasma). If the pig farm uses penicillin, cephalosporins, florfenicol, tilmicosin, and long-acting oxytetracycline to treat pig disease and has no therapeutic effect, lincomycin treatment will continue to be effective.
1. When the sow suffers from mastitis or uterine inflammation, if the piglets and young have yellow and white diarrhea, use lincomycin to effectively cut off the yellow and white diarrhea caused by streptococcal mastitis and metritis.
2. When pigs suffer from trauma, use Lincomycin Hydrochloride to effectively control wound infection caused by trauma and castration. If it is combined with gentamicin sulfate injection, the effect will be better.
3. Lincomycin hydrochloride can be used to treat Mycoplasma swine asthma, and it also has a good therapeutic effect on Haemophilus parasuis.
In general, lincomycin hydrochloride can be used to treat gram-positive bacterial infections in pigs and chickens, such as swine dysentery and chicken necrotizing enteritis. It can also be used for mycoplasma infection in pigs and chickens.
